Heal
Restore energy. Reclaim strength.
- Name limiting beliefs and unresolved pain
- Reframe adversity: broken to built
- Map what drains you and what fuels you
- Forgiveness and release
Outcome: from survival mode to stability.
Identity-based leadership development
A three-phase framework for leaders and men rebuilding after disruption. Restore your energy, rediscover who you are apart from performance, and act on purpose.
Why this exists
“I lost more than movement that day. I lost who I thought I was.”
In 2013 a spinal cord injury took away the life I had built. Healing my body was only part of it. The harder work was rebuilding an identity that didn't depend on what I could do or the title I held.
FindingHUP is the path I walked, turned into a structure other people can follow. It is for anyone whose sense of self has been shaken by injury, loss, burnout or a career that ended without warning.
This isn't motivation. It's a framework. It's FindingHUP.
The HUP framework
Energy fuels identity → Identity fuels purpose → Purpose fuels impact
Restore energy. Reclaim strength.
Outcome: from survival mode to stability.
Discover who you really are.
Outcome: confidence rooted in identity, not circumstance.
Live purpose on purpose.
Outcome: from clarity to courageous execution.
Speaking
A keynote about identity beyond performance, resilience through alignment, and leadership with integrity. It is told through Mark's story and built on the HUP framework, so your audience leaves with steps to take, not just a feeling.
Available in two versions: faith-explicit for churches and ministries, and corporate-safe for companies and leadership teams.
Coaching
A small group that works through the whole framework together, one week at a time, with exercises, honest conversation and accountability.
The first cohort begins in early 2027, with 8 seats. Join the waitlist to hear first.
FindingHUP is coaching, not therapy or medical care. If you are working through trauma, we encourage support from a licensed counselor alongside the cohort.

About Mark
Mark Bender has spent more than 20 years leading technology programs at Motorola, T-Mobile, HTC and Special Olympics North America. After his spinal cord injury in 2013 he had to rebuild almost everything, and he learned that the deepest work was rebuilding who he was.
Since then he has founded and coached a junior downhill and enduro cycling team that sent two riders to the Downhill World Championships. He plays wheelchair rugby with the Seattle Slam, mentors others living with spinal cord injury, and coached high school football. He is a former church elder and the father of four sons.
Faith in Christ is the foundation of his life and of this work. FindingHUP is how he shares what he learned: real, vulnerable and honest.
Broken4Purpose
FindingHUP is part of Broken4Purpose. We plan to fund scholarship seats in the cohort for adaptive athletes and men rebuilding after trauma, so cost isn't what keeps someone out.
HUP apparel
Minimal, premium pieces in navy, black and white. The first drop is planned for spring 2027.
